DRIVING CONTROL DEVICE AND DRIVING CONTROL METHOD

To provide a driving control device and a driving control method that reduce risks that a motorcycle that passes a side of outside a vehicle and tries to move forward falls down to the side or front of the vehicle, reduce risks of the vehicle being involved in an accident, and support safe driving of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A driving control device includes: an environmental information acquisition unit that acquires information on a driving environment of a vehicle; a detection processing unit that acquires detection information for motorcycles located around the vehicle based on the information of the driving environment; a situation determination unit that determines the existence of a risk situation due to passing through the side of the motorcycle, based on the information of the driving environment and the detection information for motorcycles; and a vehicle control unit that controls at least a lateral position in a lane of a road on which the vehicle is traveling.
