To provide a storage type water heater which is advantageous in reducing the likelihood of a control board malfunction.SOLUTION: The storage type water heater comprises a hot-water storage tank, a tank heat-insulation material disposed outside the hot-water storage tank, a control board 50 that controls functional components, and an outer shell case storing the hot-water storage tank, the tank heat-insulation material, the functional components, and the control board 50, with a storage recess 21 storing the control board 50 formed on the tank heat-insulation material, and has a waterproofing capability of preventing water from entering into the storage recess 21 when the water level in the outer shell case is higher than the lower end of the control board 50 and lower than the lowest part of the upper edge of the storage recess 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】制御基板が故障する可能性を低減する上で有利になる貯湯式給湯機を提供する。【解決手段】貯湯式給湯機は、貯湯タンクと、貯湯タンクの外側に配置されたタンク断熱材と、機能部品を制御する制御基板５０と、貯湯タンク、タンク断熱材、機能部品及び制御基板５０が入れられた外郭ケースとを備える。制御基板５０を収納する収納凹部２１がタンク断熱材に形成されている。外郭ケース内の水位が、制御基板５０の下端よりも高く、かつ、収納凹部２１の上縁のうちの最低部よりも低い水位のときに収納凹部２１への水の侵入を防止する防水性を有する。【選択図】図２
