Zusammenfassung:To appropriately prevent nozzle clogging in a liquid discharge device using an active energy ray curable ink.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device includes: a discharge unit having a plurality of nozzles for discharging active energy ray curable liquid, and configured to be moved in a main scanning direction and discharge the liquid from the nozzles according to data during the movement in the main scanning direction; an irradiation unit capable of relatively moving with respect to the discharge unit and configured to irradiate the liquid discharged from the discharge unit with an active energy ray; a movement control unit configured to relatively move a carriage mounted with the discharge unit and the irradiation unit in the main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction with respect to a discharge target; and a contact and separation control unit configured to move the irradiation unit according to a distance between an operating nozzle that is in operation among the nozzles and the irradiation unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】活性エネルギー線硬化性インクを用いる液体吐出装置において、適切にノズルの詰まりを防ぐ。【解決手段】液体吐出装置は、活性エネルギー線硬化型の液体を吐出するノズルを複数有し、主走査方向に移動され、前記主走査方向への移動中に、データに応じた前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出する吐出部と、前記吐出部に対して相対移動可能であって、前記吐出部から吐出された前記液体に対して活性エネルギー線を照射する照射部と、前記吐出部および前記照射部を搭載したキャリッジを、吐出対象に対して前記主走査方向および当該主走査方向に直交する方向である副走査方向に相対移動させる移動制御部と、前記ノズルのうち稼働している稼働ノズルと前記照射部との距離に応じて、前記照射部を移動させる接離制御部と、を備える。【選択図】図5
