Zusammenfassung: | To provide a cooling device and cooling method for a hot rolled steel sheet, enabling a lower surface of a hot rolled steel sheet after finish rolling in a hot rolling step to be properly cooled.SOLUTION: A cooling device for a hot rolled steel sheet is provided which cools a lower surface of a hot rolled steel sheet conveyed on a conveyance roll of a run-out table after finish rolling in a hot rolling step, the cooling device comprises: a plurality of cooling water nozzles which are arranged side by side in a plate width direction of the run-out table between the adjacent conveyance rolls and jet the cooling water to the lower surface of the hot rolled steel sheet; and a cooling water quantity control mechanism which controls the flow volume of the cooling water jetted from the cooling water nozzles. The cooling water quantity control mechanism comprises: a shielding unit which has a plurality of shielding plates provided above the plurality of cooling water nozzles and forming a flow channel of the cooling water; an opening adjustment unit which has a drive shaft extending along the plate width direction of the run-out table and adjusting the opening of the shielding unit; and a power transmission unit which is connected to the lower portion of the shielding unit and transmits the power of the opening adjustment unit to the shielding unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
