To provide a honeycomb filter that has excellent collection performance and an increase in pressure loss is suppressed.SOLUTION: The honeycomb filter comprises a columnar honeycomb structure part 4 having a porous bulkhead 1 arranged to surround a plurality of cells 2, and a seal-up part 5 arranged at an opening part of either of the cells 2. The bulkhead 1 is constituted of a material including cordierite as a main component. The number of pieces of pores with a circular-corresponding diameter of over 3.0 μm existing on a surface of the bulkhead 1 per unit areas is 1400/mm2 or more.
