To provide a vacuum cleaner with excellent dust throwing property.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner includes: a cleaner body; an electric blower stored in the cleaner body to generate suction force; and a dust collection device to be removable with respect to the cleaner body. The dust collection part includes: an outer cylinder; an inner cylinder arranged inside the outer cylinder; and a lid for discharging collected dust. The inner cylinder includes: an air intake part which is arranged in the upper part and has a nearly cylindrical first filter; and an umbrella part which is arranged in the lower part and is opened toward the lid. The air intake part and the umbrella part communicate each other via a second filter arranged on an upper stream side of the umbrella part. The umbrella part includes a slide mechanism to be projected in an opening direction when the lid is opened.
