To provide a railway vehicle that can be easily diverted to an event vehicle.SOLUTION: A railway vehicle 1 having a cabin 3 inside, includes a long seat 4 that has a longitudinal direction along a side wall 28 of the cabin 3, and a cargo shelf 7 that is arranged on a ceiling 29 side of the cabin 3 of the long seat 4 so as to have a longitudinal direction along the longitudinal direction of the long seat 4. At a longitudinal end portion of the long seat 4, rod-shaped handrails 6, 13, and 16 raised toward the ceiling 29 of the cabin 3, and lifting/lowering members 8, 12, and 15 united with the handrails 6, 13, and 16 and capable of lifting/lowering along the handrails 6, 13, and 16 are provided.
