Zusammenfassung:To improve cooling efficiency of the whole coil row in cooling of a hot rolled coil in a coil stockyard using a forced convection generator.SOLUTION: A cooling device 1 is provided with a forced convection generator 10 for blowing out a coolant from a blowout port and generating forced convection. In the cooling device 1, the forced convection generator 10 is arranged on the side part of the coil rows 90 in side view of the coil rows 90 that are rows of a hot rolled coil 91 and between the adjacent coil rows 90 in plan view of the coil rows 90, and a center C of the blowout port of the forced convection generator 10 is positioned in each region An in a height direction, and the following expression (1) is satisfied: Zn-2Rn≤An≤Zn-Rn (n=1) Zn-1-Rn-1≤An≤Zn-Rn (n≥2).
