Zusammenfassung:To save labor for transportation work of transporting articles such as foods.SOLUTION: An automatic transportation system includes an index for use in guiding a storage unit (4), which is mounted on a cart (5), to a takeover position where the storage unit is taken over from the cart (5) to a moving apparatus (6), position detection means that detects the position of the index with respect to the cart (5), and degree-of-approach detection means that detects a degree of approach of the cart (5) to the moving apparatus (6). When the position detection means detects that the index falls within a predetermined area defined around the cart (5), the cart (5) is allowed to travel toward the position of the index. When the cart (5) reaches the takeover position, if the degree-of-approach detection means detects that the degree of approach of the cart (5) to the moving apparatus (6) has reached a predetermined degree, halting of the cart (5) and activation of the moving apparatus (6) are successively carried out.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】食品等の物品の搬送作業を省力化すること。【解決手段】台車(5)に搭載された収容部(4)を、この台車(5)から移動装置(6)へ受け継ぐことが可能となる受継位置へ導くための指標と、台車(5)に対する指標の位置を検出する位置検出手段と、移動装置(6)に対する台車(5)の接近度合を検出する接近度合検出手段が備えられ、位置検出手段によって指標が台車(5)の周辺に設定された所定の領域内にあることが検出された場合に、この指標の位置に向けて台車(5)を走行させ、この台車(5)が受継位置に到達し、且つ、接近度合検出手段によって移動装置(6)に対する台車(5)の接近度合が所定の度合に達した場合に、台車(5)の走行停止と移動装置(6)の作動開始が連続して実行されるように構成する。【選択図】図1
