Zusammenfassung: | To provide an apparatus and a method for automatic in vitro analyte detection using chromatic spectral decomposition of an optical response.SOLUTION: The invention provides a device for automated in vitro analyte detection of a specimen. The device comprises an optical read device that can detect optical response of reaction solution to electromagnetic stimulation by a photoelectric receiver. The photoelectric receiver is held by a movable carriage of the device, and the movable carriage moves under automatic control to convey the photoelectric receiver to a plurality of positions corresponding to each analysis region respectively. The photoelectric receiver constitutes a part of a spectrometer that can provide chromatic spectral decomposition of the optical response. The invention also provides a method for performing automated in vitro analyte detection and/or quantification. In one method, the chromatic spectral decomposition of the optical response can be obtained and at least two different optical agents are detected separately by the spectral decomposition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
