Zusammenfassung:To provide an image formation apparatus and a cooling method which can efficiently cool a conveyance rotor whose temperature has risen due to an external factor.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus comprises: a conveyance rotor which has a placement surface on which a recording medium can be placed and conveys the recording medium placed on the placement surface while rotating; a suction part which makes the placement surface adsorb the recording medium by suctioning the air from a plurality of suction holes formed on the placement surface; and a switching unit which switches between the operation of suctioning the air and the operation of circulating the cooling air so as to circulate the cooling air for cooling the conveyance rotor through the suction holes between the inside and the outside of the conveyance rotor in a region where the recording medium is not placed on the placement surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】外的要因により温度上昇した搬送回転体の冷却を効率的に行うことが可能な画像形成装置および冷却方法を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置は、記録媒体を載置可能な載置面を有し、回転しながら、載置面に載置された記録媒体を搬送する搬送回転体と、載置面に形成された複数の吸引孔からエアーを吸引することによって載置面に前記記録媒体を吸着させる吸引部と、載置面のうち記録媒体が載置されていない領域において、搬送回転体の内部と外部との間で吸引孔を介して、搬送回転体を冷却するための冷却エアーを流通させるように、エアーを吸引する動作と冷却エアーを流通させる動作とを切り替える切替部と、を備える。【選択図】図5
