To provide a door frame which enables the selection freedom of a surface design to be increased, a door frame construction method, and a sliding door device equipped with the door frame.SOLUTION: A door frame 2 to which a door panel 10 slid in a door width direction is attached comprises a longitudinal frame 22 where a surface exposed at least in a constructed state is a paintable painted substrate surface 22a. The longitudinal frame includes a reception recess 24 which receives a head 7 of a fixing tool 6 for fixing the longitudinal frame to a longitudinal frame substrate 3a and which is provided so as to be opened at an expected surface 23a.
