Zusammenfassung: | To provide a metal material surface treatment method allowing for accurate control of concentration of N atom in a surface layer of the metal material even if a condition applied to a surface treatment changes when a surface treatment of the metal material is performed by nitriding quenching or carbonitriding.SOLUTION: When a nitriding quenching treatment or carbonitriding treatment as a surface treatment is performed for a metal material in an atmosphere including NH3, H2 and CO, each of a partial pressure P(NH3) of NH3 and a partial pressure of P(H2) of H2 in the atmosphere is measured, and on the basis of the measured value, a nitriding potential Kn is estimated as Kn=P(NH3)/P(H2)3/2, and the nitriding potential Kn is controlled by controlling at least either of the partial pressure of NH3 and H2 in the atmosphere with the nitriding potential Kn as a target value corresponding to a desired N concentration based on a relationship between a N concentration of a surface layer of the metal material and the nitriding potential Kn.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】浸窒焼入れまたは浸炭窒化により、金属材の表面処理を行う際に、表面処理にかかる条件が変化しても、金属材の表層部におけるN原子の濃度を正確に制御することができる金属材の表面処理方法を提供する。【解決手段】NH3、H2、COを含む雰囲気中で、金属材に対して、表面処理として、浸窒焼入れ処理または浸炭窒化処理を行うに際し、前記雰囲気において、NH3の分圧P(NH3)およびH2の分圧P(H2)をそれぞれ計測するとともに、該計測値に基づいて、Kn=P(NH3)/P(H2)3/2として、窒化ポテンシャルKnを見積もり、前記金属材の表層部のN濃度と前記窒化ポテンシャルKnとの関係に基づいて、所望のN濃度に対応付けられる前記窒化ポテンシャルKnを目標値として、前記雰囲気中のNH3およびH2の少なくとも一方の分圧を制御することにより、前記窒化ポテンシャルKnを制御する。【選択図】図2 |
