Zusammenfassung:	To provide an image forming apparatus and a heating control method with which image fixing processing can be safely performed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of an embodiment has a fixing unit and a control unit. The fixing unit has a heating unit and a fixing belt. The fixing belt is in contact with the heating unit and a member not in contact with the heating unit, and is heated by the heating unit. The control unit determines whether the fixing belt is connected to the ground, and when determining that the fixing belt is not connected to the ground, stops heating treatment performed by the heating unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】安全に画像定着処理を行うことができる画像形成装置及び加熱制御方法を提供することである。【解決手段】実施形態の画像形成装置は、定着部と、制御部と、を持つ。定着部は、加熱部と、定着ベルトと、を有する。定着ベルトは、前記加熱部と、前記加熱部と接しない部材と、にそれぞれ接触し、前記加熱部によって加熱される。制御部は、前記定着ベルトがグランドに接続しているか否かを判定し、前記定着ベルトがグランドに接続していないと判定された場合、前記加熱部による加熱処理を停止させる。【選択図】図１
