To calculate an index for appropriately evaluating each company, based on patents held by each company.SOLUTION: An index calculation device 10 includes a patent value calculation unit 113, an extraction unit 114, and a company value calculation unit 115. The patent value calculation unit 113 calculates a patent score, which is a value indicating the value as a patent, for each of a plurality of patents. The extraction unit 114 extracts some patents in order from the patent having the highest patent score, using the plurality of patents as extraction sources, based on the patent score calculated by the patent value calculation unit 113 and a predetermined extraction condition.
