To provide a shape measuring device with which it is possible to easily switching between a skid measurement and a skidless measurement.SOLUTION: A shape measuring device (10) comprises: a displacement detector (18) provided with a fitting unit to which a measurement tip can be removably fitted, a displacement read unit for reading the displacement of the measurement tip and restriction means for restricting the movable area of the fitting unit to a given range; a roughness detector (100) provided with an arm and a probe attached to the arm and removably attachable to the fitting unit of the displacement detector; a skid (108A); a use area setting unit which sets a use area in a skid measurement and a skidless measurement, respectively, and which, when performing a skidless measurement, sets the upper limit of the use area downward of a contact face of the skid that comes in contact with the surface of a measurement object; and a control device (200) which, when performing a skidless measurement, controls the restriction means and restricts the movable area of the roughness detector so that the skid does not come in contact with the measurement object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】スキッド測定とスキッドレス測定の切り替えを容易に行うことが可能な形状測定装置を提供する。【解決手段】形状測定装置（１０）は、測定子が着脱自在に取付可能な取付部と、測定子の変位を読み取る変位読取部と、取付部の可動域を一定の範囲に規制する規制手段とを備える変位検出器（１８）と、アームと、アームに取り付けられた触針を備え、変位検出器の取付部に着脱自在に取付可能な粗さ検出器（１００）と、スキッド（１０８Ａ）と、スキッド測定及びスキッドレス測定における使用域をそれぞれ設定する使用域設定部であって、スキッドレス測定を行う場合に、スキッドが被測定物の表面に接触しないように、使用域の上限を、被測定物の表面に接触するスキッドの接触面よりも下方に設定する使用域設定部と、スキッドレス測定を行う場合に、規制手段を制御して、スキッドが被測定物に非接触となるように粗さ検出器の可動域を規制する制御装置（２００）とを備える。【選択図】 図５
