To provide a substrate for a housing of a ball joint capable of suppressing local strength poverty while enabling weight reduction of a housing, a housing of a ball joint, and a ball joint.SOLUTION: A housing base material 33 comprises a cylinder part 41 that is formed in a cylindrical shape, and is covered with a cylindrical part, and into which a ball part and a bearing sheet rotatably holding the ball part are attached. The housing base material 33 comprises a projection part 45 that projects along an axial direction of the cylinder part 41 and is covered by a link part. The projection part 45 has a projection base end part 50 that is connected to the cylinder part 41.
