To reduce impact applied to the tip of a sheet in a sheet discharging device for discharging the sheet while stiffening the sheet and an image forming apparatus equipped with the same.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the invention includes: a discharge tray (27); discharge means (31) for discharging a sheet in a waveform shape at a predetermined elevation angle, and having first members (32b) for applying force to a first region (300a) of the sheet (S) from an upper surface, and second members (33b) for applying force to a second region (300b) of the sheet from a lower surface at positions different from positions of the first members; and abutting means (35) having a first guide surface (36a1) and a second guide surface (36b1) for guiding the sheet toward the discharge tray.
