VEHICLE NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD OF VEHICLE NAVIGATION SYSTEM

To provide a vehicle navigation system capable of performing input operations and information provision in consideration of safety according to vehicle information and the traveling state of a vehicle.SOLUTION: The vehicle navigation system includes: an on-vehicle camera capable of picking up an image of occupants in a vehicle and detecting the direction of the line of sight of the occupants based on the pickup image of the occupants; and an on-board unit having a touch panel that can receive occupant operations and display information. The on-vehicle camera detects the direction of the line of sight of a driver out of the occupants and transmits a detection result including the direction of the line of sight of the driver and the pickup image to the on-board unit.
