To provide an article sorting device for efficiently temporarily storing an article set for which a picking process has been completed (or in progress) so as to deal with the increasing number of items and the increasing number of pieces of picking means.SOLUTION: An article sorting apparatus 1 includes: an article shelf 2 having a plurality of compartments 3, for accommodating a plurality of types of articles 200; picking means 7 for picking the article from any of the plurality of sections of the article shelf; a mounting table 30 for temporarily placing picked articles picked by the picking means; and a delivery case line 160 for transporting a delivery case 170 to be accommodated to a position of the mounting table. The delivery case is associated with a delivery destination. The delivery case is packed with a combined article set of the type and number of the articles that need to be delivered to the delivery destination associated.
