To provide an electric steering column having a novel improved configuration such that the size is reduced or the number of components is reduced.SOLUTION: An electric steering column 10 includes a main housing 11 which is supported by a vehicle body so that a tilt angle can be changed, a steering shaft 13 penetrating through the main housing 11, a first electric motor 110 fixed to the main housing 11, a circuit board 151 which is supported by the main housing 11, faces the first electric motor 110 and is mounted with a first control part for controlling operation of the first electric motor 110, a first rotation and direct-acting mechanism 160 having a first rotary member 161 which is rotated in response to rotation of a first shaft of the first electric motor 110 and a first direct-acting member 162 which is directly acted in response to rotation of the first rotary member 161, and a tilt mechanism 20 which changes a tilt angle of the main housing 11 to the vehicle body in response to direct acting of the first linear-acting member 162.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】サイズをより小さくする、或いは、部品点数をより少なくする、といった、より改善された新規な構成の電動ステアリングコラムを提供する。【解決手段】電動ステアリングコラム１０は、車体にチルト角度を変化可能に支持されたメインハウジング１１と、メインハウジング１１内を貫通したステアリングシャフト１３と、メインハウジング１１に固定された第一電動モータ１１０と、メインハウジング１１に支持され第一電動モータ１１０と面し第一電動モータ１１０の動作を制御する第一制御部が実装された回路基板１５１と、第一電動モータ１１０の第一シャフトの回転に応じて回転する第一回転部材１６１と第一回転部材１６１の回転に応じて直動する第一直動部材１６２とを有した第一回転直動変換機構１６０と、第一直動部材１６２の直動に応じて車体に対するメインハウジング１１のチルト角度を変化させるチルト機構２０と、を備える。【選択図】図５
