Zusammenfassung: | To provide an electric steering column having a novel improved configuration such that the size is reduced or the number of components is reduced.SOLUTION: An electric steering column 10 includes a main housing 11 which is supported by a vehicle body so that a tilt angle can be changed, a steering shaft 13 penetrating through the main housing 11, a first electric motor 110 fixed to the main housing 11, a circuit board 151 which is supported by the main housing 11, faces the first electric motor 110 and is mounted with a first control part for controlling operation of the first electric motor 110, a first rotation and direct-acting mechanism 160 having a first rotary member 161 which is rotated in response to rotation of a first shaft of the first electric motor 110 and a first direct-acting member 162 which is directly acted in response to rotation of the first rotary member 161, and a tilt mechanism 20 which changes a tilt angle of the main housing 11 to the vehicle body in response to direct acting of the first linear-acting member 162.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
