Zusammenfassung:To provide an electric steering column having a novel improved configuration such that the size is reduced or the number of components is reduced.SOLUTION: An electric steering column 10 includes a main housing 11, a steering shaft 13, a first electric motor 110 fixed to the main housing 11, a circuit board 151 which is supported by the main housing 11, faces the first electric motor 110 and is mounted with a first control part for controlling operation of the first electric motor 110, a first rotary member 161 which is rotated in response to rotation of a first shaft of the first electric motor 110 and a first direct-acting member 162 which is directly acted in response to rotation of the first rotary member 161, a first variable mechanism 20 which changes one of an attitude to a vehicle body of the electric steering column 10 in response to direct acting of the first direct-acting member 162 and a shape of the electric steering column 10, and a first sensor which is mounted on the circuit board 151 and detects rotation of the first shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】サイズをより小さくする、或いは、部品点数をより少なくする、といった、より改善された新規な構成の電動ステアリングコラムを提供する。【解決手段】電動ステアリングコラム10は、メインハウジング11と、ステアリングシャフト13と、メインハウジング11に固定された第一電動モータ110と、メインハウジング11に支持され第一電動モータ110と面し第一電動モータ110の動作を制御する第一制御部が実装された回路基板151と、第一電動モータ110の第一シャフトの回転に応じて回転する第一回転部材161と第一回転部材161の回転に応じて直動する第一直動部材162と、第一直動部材162の直動に応じて電動ステアリングコラム10の車体に対する姿勢、および電動ステアリングコラム10の形状、のうち一方を変化させる第一可変機構20と、回路基板151に実装され第一シャフトの回転を検出する第一センサと、を備える。【選択図】図5
