Zusammenfassung:To provide a method and an apparatus for producing activated carbon, which can achieve a high yield by using a small amount of an alkali compound.SOLUTION: The problem is solved by a method for producing activated carbon by activating carbon raw material with an alkali compound. In the method for producing activated carbon, the activation is performed while regenerating a product having lost activation ability that is produced as a result of the reduction of an alkali compound by a carbon raw material in a reaction field where the activation progresses. An activated carbon production apparatus 1 comprises a reaction furnace 10 including the reaction field in which the reaction of alkali activation progresses, means 20 for intermittently supplying a regenerating agent for the alkali compound to the reaction field, and means 30 for recovering the alkali compound downstream of the reaction field on the basis of a gas flow from the reaction field.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】少量のアルカリ化合物を用い、高い歩留りを達成できる活性炭の製造方法および製造装置を提供する。【解決手段】炭素原料をアルカリ化合物により賦活して活性炭を製造する方法で、賦活が進行している反応場においてアルカリ化合物が炭素原料により還元されて生成する賦活能力を失った生成物を再生しつつ、賦活を行う活性炭の製造方法によって解決される。またアルカリ賦活の反応が進行している反応場を内包する反応炉10と、前記反応場にアルカリ化合物の再生剤を間歇的に供給する手段20と、前記反応場からのガス流れを基準として前記反応場の下流にアルカリ化合物を回収する手段30とを備える活性炭の製造装置1によって解決される。【選択図】図1
