Zusammenfassung:To provide a technique of suppressing the decrease of the electroconductivity of a composite fiber that contains carbon.SOLUTION: Provided is a composite fiber comprising a metal carbide-containing fiber 2 containing a metal carbide as a main component and a carbon layer formed on the surface of the metal carbide-containing fiber, which carbon layer covers 90% or more of the surface of the metal carbide-containing fiber, and which composite fiber has, in the Raman spectrum, a first peak with the maximum intensity appearing in the range of 1270 cm-1 or more and 1450 cm-1 or less of the wave number and a second peak with the maximum intensity appearing in the range of 2600 cm-1 or more and 2750 cm-1 or less of the wave number, the ratio A/B≤2.4, where A is the intensity A of the first peak, and B is the intensity B of the second peak.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】炭素を含有する複合繊維において、電気伝導性の低下を抑制する技術を提供する。【解決手段】金属炭化物を主成分とする金属炭化物含有繊維と、金属炭化物含有繊維の表面に形成された炭素層と、を含む複合繊維であって、炭素層は、金属炭化物含有繊維の表面の90%以上を覆い、複合繊維は、ラマンスペクトルにおいて、波数が1270cm-1以上1450cm-1以下の範囲に現れる最大強度の第1ピークと、波数が2600cm-1以上2750cm-1以下の範囲に現れる最大強度の第2ピークと、を有し、第2ピークの強度Bに対する第1ピークの強度Aの比A/Bが、A/B≦2.4である。【選択図】図1
