To provide a method for simply and inexpensively measuring the hydrogen storage amount of an organic hydride, and also to provide a compound for measuring the hydrogen storage amount of the organic hydride.SOLUTION: A method for measuring the hydrogen storage amount of an organic hydride, includes the steps of: (A) obtaining monosubstituted polyacetylene represented by a specific formula in an organic hydride; (B) observing hue of the monosubstituted polyacetylene obtained in the step (A); and (C) measuring a mixing ratio of methylcyclohexane (MCH) and toluene (TOL) in the organic hydrate based on the hue observed in the step (B).SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】有機ハイドライドの水素貯蔵量を簡便かつ低コストで測定することのできる方法及び有機ハイドライドの水素貯蔵量測定用化合物を提供する。【解決手段】有機ハイドライドの水素貯蔵量を測定するための方法は、（Ａ）有機ハイドライド中で、特定の式で表される一置換ポリアセチレンを得る工程と、（Ｂ）前記工程（Ａ）で得られた前記一置換ポリアセチレンの色彩を観察する工程と、（Ｃ）前記工程（Ｂ）で観察された前記色彩に基づき、前記有機ハイドライド中のメチルシクロヘキサン（ＭＣＨ）とトルエン（ＴＯＬ）との混合比を測定する工程と、を含む。【選択図】なし
