Zusammenfassung:To provide a solid electrolyte excellent in thermal shock resistance, and a gas sensor.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a solid electrolyte 1 composed of stabilized or partial stabilized zirconia and a gas sensor provided with the solid electrolyte 1. A change rate of a crystallite diameter of at least one of a cubic crystal phase 21 and a tetragonal phase 23 in crystal grains 2 constituting the solid electrolyte 1 is equal to or less than 10% before and after heating the solid electrolyte 1 from room temperature to 1200°C.
