To provide a gap creating tool capable of easily creating a gap in which both ends of a rod-shaped structure can be visually recognized.SOLUTION: There is provided a gap creating tool that creates a gap between an accessory attached to the outer edge of a rod-shaped structure and its outer edge, comprising an insertion member 1 that inserts a tip portion 1b extending from a hand-held portion 1a between the outer edge of a rod-shaped structure and an accessory to form a gap, and a fixing member 2 that is inserted into the gap created by the insertion member 1 to fix the gap.
