Zusammenfassung:	To provide a polyethylene filament with high fineness and excellent in knot strength retention.SOLUTION: The polyethylene filament is a multifilament composed of monofilaments including a polyethylene having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 5.0 dL/g or greater and 40.0 dL/g or less, and a repeating unit being substantially ethylene, and has: (a) single fiber fineness of 15 dtex or more; (b) tensile strength of 18 cN/dtex or more; (c) knot strength retention of 30% or more; and (d) the monofilament having a flat shape with a ratio of a long side and a short side in a cross section perpendicular to a fiber axial direction being 1.7 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】繊度が高く、結節強度保持率に優れたポリエチレンフィラメントを提供する。【解決手段】極限粘度［η］が５．０ｄＬ／ｇ以上４０．０ｄＬ／ｇ以下であり、繰り返し単位が実質的にエチレンであるポリエチレンから成るモノフィラメントから構成されるマルチフィラメントであって、（ａ）単糸繊度が１５ｄｔｅｘ以上であり、（ｂ）引張強度が１８ｃＮ／ｄｔｅｘ以上であり、（ｃ）結節強度保持率が３０％以上であり、かつ、（ｄ）前記モノフィラメントは、繊維軸方向に垂直の断面の長辺と短辺の比が１．７以上の扁平形状である。【選択図】なし
