Zusammenfassung:To provide an ink jet recording method which has excellent discharge stability of ink and can record a high quality image.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording method records an image on a recording medium using an ink jet recording device 100 including: a recording head 3 which has a discharge port surface 7 formed with a discharge port 2 for discharging ink therein; a liquid storage section 30 which stores cleaning liquid 4 for cleaning the discharge port surface 7; and a wiper 5 which wipes the discharge port surface 7. The cleaning liquid 4 contains a near-infrared ray absorbing material. The ink jet recording device 100 further includes a near-infrared light source 6.
