Zusammenfassung: | To inhibit a decrease in the purifying function of an electrochemical reactor, caused by adhesion of condensed water.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas purifier for an internal combustion engine comprises: an electrochemical reactor provided in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine; and a voltage control device that controls a voltage supplied to the electrochemical reactor. The electrochemical reactor comprises: a solid electrolyte layer that is ion-conductive; and an anode layer and a cathode layer arranged on a surface of the solid electrolyte layer. The voltage control device is configured to execute: short-circuit detection control that detects a short-circuit between the anode layer and the cathode layer; and electrification control that, when a short-circuit is detected, causes an electrical current to flow between the anode layer and the cathode layer so that a short-circuited portion is electrified.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
【課題】凝縮水の付着伴う電気化学リアクタの浄化機能の低下を抑制する。【解決手段】内燃機関の排気浄化装置は、内燃機関の排気通路内に設けられた電気化学リアクタと、電気化学リアクタへの供給電圧を制御する電圧制御装置とを備える。電気化学リアクタは、イオン導電性の固体電解質層と、固体電解質層の表面上に配置されたアノード層及びカソード層とを備える。電圧制御装置は、アノード層とカソード層との間の短絡を検出する短絡検出制御と、短絡が検出されたときに、短絡した部分が通電されるようにアノード層とカソード層との間に電流を流す通電制御とを行うように構成される。【選択図】図8 |
