To inhibit a decrease in the purifying function of an electrochemical reactor, caused by adhesion of condensed water.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas purifier for an internal combustion engine comprises: an electrochemical reactor provided in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine; and a voltage control device that controls a voltage supplied to the electrochemical reactor. The electrochemical reactor comprises: a solid electrolyte layer that is ion-conductive; and an anode layer and a cathode layer arranged on a surface of the solid electrolyte layer.
