Zusammenfassung:To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine in which a sintered body layer attaining low thermal conductivity and low volume specific heat and a piston base material are firmly joined to each other.SOLUTION: A piston for an internal combustion engine is characterized in that at least a base material and a sintered body layer provided on the base material are provided and a penetrant diffusion layer is formed on the sintered body side between the sintered body layer and the base material by using an insert member having a lower melting point than that of the piston base material. A method for manufacturing the piston for the internal combustion engine is characterized in that metal having a lower melting point than that of the base material is used as the insert material and the penetrant diffusion layer is formed by causing the insert material to penetrate through a hole of the sintered body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】低熱伝導性および低体積比熱を実現する焼結体層とピストン基材とが強固に接合された内燃機関用ピストンを提供する。【解決手段】少なくとも,基材と,基材上に設けられた焼結体層とを有し,焼結体層と基材との間にはピストン基材よりも低融点のインサート材により焼結体側に浸透拡散層を形成させたことを特徴とする内燃機関用ピストンを提供する。また,基材よりも低融点の金属をインサート材とし,インサート材が焼結体の空孔に浸透することで浸透拡散層を形成することを特徴とする内燃機関用ピストンの製造方法を提供する。【選択図】 図1
