To provide a rotating device capable of solving a problem in a conventional holding member shape that, since the holding member and the fixing belt come into contact with each other in the downstream in the conveying direction, the reduction of the force applied to the end of the belt (shift force) and the improvement of separation performance are not compatible.SOLUTION: Compatibility of a longer life of a fixing unit and improvement of separation performance are achieved by changing shapes of a fixing belt regulation surface for holding a fixing belt and a holding surface. The shape of the fixing belt regulation surface is changed and these below are regulated: a ratio of an inner circumference length of fixing belt to a circumference of the fixing belt regulation surface that regulates the inner circumference of the fixing belt; a state of contact between the fixing belt regulation surface and the fixing belt; a ratio of a belt circumference upstream in a paper passing direction to a fixing belt circumference length to a nip vertical plane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】 従来の保持部材形状は保持部材と定着ベルトが搬送方向下流で接触するためベルト端部にかかる力（寄り力）の低減と分離性能の向上が両立できなかった。【解決手段】 定着ベルトを保持する保持部材の定着ベルト規制面と保持面の形状変更することで、定着器の長寿命化と分離性能の向上を達成する。定着ベルト規制面の形状を変え、かつ定着ベルト内周を規制する定着ベルト保持面の周長と定着ベルト内周長の比／定着ベルト規制面と定着ベルトの接触状態／定着ベルト周長に対するニップ垂直面に対する通紙方向上流のベルト周長の比を規定した。【選択図】図４
