To provide a gas meter capable of searching for external devices connected when prescribed conditions are met.SOLUTION: A gas meter 1 has a shutoff valve 2, flow rate measuring means 5, recovery means 3, forced shutoff means 6, external communication means 9, and control means 7. A connected device search instruction means 8 is configured so as to, when the recovery means 3 starts the opening operation and determines the opening operation has completed, instruct the control means 7 to search the connected devices, and the control means 7 carries out the search the devices connected to the external communication means 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ガスメータにおいて、所定条件を満たした時点で、外部通信端子に接続されている外部機器の検索を実施すること。【解決手段】遮断弁２と、流量計測手段５と、復帰手段３と、強制遮断手段６と、外部通信手段９と、制御手段７と、を有するガスメータ１であって、接続機器検索指示手段８が、復帰手段３により開栓動作が開始されて、開栓動作が完了したことを判定すると、接続機器検索指示を制御手段７に指示し、制御手段７が外部通信手段９に接続された機器の検索を実施する。【選択図】図１
