Zusammenfassung:To provide a relay device which can reduce a relay time of a high-speed message, while securing the security of message communication.SOLUTION: The relay device includes: a first determination unit which determines whether or not a message received from an external-vehicle appliance is a high-speed message which includes data that is required to be transmitted to an in-vehicle appliance within a fixed time, to transfer the received message to a predetermined route based on the determination result; a second determination unit which acquires a message to determine whether or not the acquired message is an illegal message; and a relay processing unit which acquires a message to be able to relay at least to the in-vehicle appliance. The high-speed message is output from the relay processing unit to the second determination unit and the in-vehicle appliance through a first route which reaches the relay processing unit from the first determination unit without passing through the second determination unit.
