Zusammenfassung: | To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the number of trial printing papers and shortening the adjustment time of a process condition, and to provide a rough-paper transferability detection method.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: an intermediate transfer belt 134 which has a patch formed by toner; a secondary transfer roller 142 which forms a transfer nip between the secondary transfer roller 142 and the intermediate transfer belt 134; a gap C which is formed outside the transfer nip by the formation of the transfer nip; and a transferability detection part 113A. The transferability detection part 113A predicts and detects the transferability of rough paper having recesses and projections on a surface on which a toner image is formed, on the basis of the amount of the toner remaining on the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 134 or the amount of the toner transferred on the surface of the secondary transfer roller 142, after the patch is transferred from the intermediate transfer belt 134 to the secondary transfer roller 142 by applying a transfer electric field in such a state that the gap C is formed and in such a state that the intermediate transfer belt 134 and the secondary transfer roller 142 are stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
【課題】試し刷り用紙を削減しかつプロセス条件の調整時間を短縮化し得る画像形成装置及び凹凸紙転写性検出方法を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置100は、トナーから構成されるパッチを有する中間転写ベルト134と、中間転写ベルト134との間に転写ニップを形成する2次転写ローラー142と、転写ニップの形成により転写ニップの外側に形成される隙間Cと、転写性検出部113Aと、を有する。転写性検出部113Aは、隙間Cが形成された状態かつ中間転写ベルト134および2次転写ローラー142が静止した状態で転写電界を印加することにより、中間転写ベルト134から2次転写ローラー142へパッチが転写された後において、中間転写ベルト134の表面に残存しているトナー量あるいは2次転写ローラー142の表面に転写されたトナー量に基づいて、トナー画像が形成される面に凹凸を有する凹凸紙の転写性を予測して検出する。【選択図】図5 |
