Zusammenfassung: | To provide a method for quenching a steel component by which a cooling rate of an object to be treated can be made uniform, by supplying a sufficient flow of the oil in the vicinity of the center of an upper portion of a basket even when the filling amount of the object to be treated (steel component) is large, and preventing the flow velocity of the oil from increasing around the steel component so that the oil avoids the steel component.SOLUTION: A quenching system includes a quenching tank 1 that stores oil, stirring means that stirs the oil in the quenching tank 1, and steel component moving means that moves a steel component W in the quenching tank 1. In the quenching method using the quenching system, the steel component W is quenched while covering the upper side of the steel component W by using a top plate T having an opening portion 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
