To surely stop a carriage at a home position, and surely perform maintenance of the carriage by a maintenance device.SOLUTION: An inkjet printer includes: a movably arranged carriage; a plurality of recording heads Hdi; a carriage drive processing part Pr3 which drives a drive part for carriage movement and moves the carriage; a head drive processing part Pr1 forming an image on a recording medium; a position detection part which detects a detected member arranged at a home position of a device body; and a reference position calculation part Pr4 which calculates a reference position that is a base point when the carriage is moved on the basis of sensor output of the position detection part.
