To provide a toy capable of preventing damage to an IC tag even if an outer cover is formed with a relatively soft material.SOLUTION: A toy 10 is of a soft toy type, and includes an outer cover (120) and a filler (122) that fills the outer cover. A buttock portion (32a) of a stuffed toy (12) is formed with a flat surface or approximately flat surface, and in this portion an ornament member (14) is sewn on a surface side of the outer cover. A reinforcing member (16) is bonded to a back side of the outer cover in a position corresponding to the ornament member. An IC tag (18) is stuck on this reinforcing member. A user passes the toy over a reader/writer by bringing the buttock portion of the stuffed toy provided with the ornament member into contact with the reader/writer or by putting (sitting) the stuffed toy on the reader/writer.
