Zusammenfassung:To provide a developing device that can prevent clogging with ears of a developer at a regulation part even when continuous printing is performed under a high-temperature environment, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A developing device comprises: a housing; a developer carrier; a regulation blade; and a magnet member. The regulation blade forms a regulation part that regulates a layer thickness of a toner carried on the developer carrier. The magnet member is arranged inside the developer carrier and has a plurality of magnetic poles including a regulation pole arranged at a proximity part of the developer carrier and regulation blade. The regulation pole can be moved to a first position opposite to the regulation part, and a second position that is rotated by a predetermined angle from the first position toward the upstream side with respect to the direction of rotation of the developer carrier during image formation. The developing device can execute a developer removal mode of moving the regulation pole from the first position to the second position during non-image formation, and subsequently moving the regulation pole back to the first position to remove a developer remaining on the regulation part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】高温環境下で連続印字を行った場合でも規制部での現像剤の穂詰まりを抑制可能な現像装置およびそれを備えた画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】現像装置は、筐体と、現像剤担持体と、規制ブレードと、磁石部材と、を備える。規制ブレードは、現像剤担持体上に担持されたトナーの層厚を規制する規制部を形成する。磁石部材は、現像剤担持体の内部に配置され、現像剤担持体と規制ブレードの近接部に配置される規制極を含む複数の磁極を有する。規制極は、規制部に対向する第1の位置と、画像形成時における現像剤担持体の回転方向に対し第1の位置から上流側に所定角度回転した第2の位置と、に移動可能である。現像装置は、非画像形成時に規制極を第1の位置から第2の位置に移動させた後、再び第1の位置に移動させて規制部に滞留した現像剤を除去する現像剤除去モードを実行可能である。【選択図】図7
