Zusammenfassung:	To provide: a resin emulsion for forming a coating film comprehensively excellent in water resistance, water permeation resistance, low-temperature film-forming properties, extensibility and heat distortion resistance; and an aqueous coating composition containing the resin emulsion.SOLUTION: There is provided a resin emulsion containing emulsion particles having at least three layers: an outer resin layer, an intermediate resin layer and an inner resin layer, where the intermediate resin layer has a glass transition temperature higher than that of the resin layers other than the intermediate resin layer by 10°C or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】耐水性、耐透水性、低温成膜性、伸張性および耐熱変形性に総合的に優れた塗膜を形成する樹脂エマルションおよび当該樹脂エマルションを含有する水性塗料を提供する。【解決手段】外層の樹脂層、中間層の樹脂層および内層の樹脂層の少なくとも３層の樹脂層を有するエマルション粒子を含有する樹脂エマルションであって、前記中間層の樹脂層のガラス転移温度が当該中間層以外の樹脂層のガラス転移温度よりも１０℃以上低いことを特徴とする。【選択図】なし
