To provide a washing machine that is provided with a detergent feeder and is capable of appropriately executing a presoak process.SOLUTION: The washing machine comprises: a detergent feeder for automatically feeding a detergent into a washing tub; a dirt degree detector for detecting a degree of dirt of washing water in the washing tub; and a controller for executing a washing operation by controlling each device. The washing machine is configured to be able to execute a presoak course comprising a presoak process for soaking laundry for a specified period of time in washing water obtained by dissolving a detergent in water in the washing tub before executing a main washing operation.
