Zusammenfassung:To provide a compact rotational speed detection device for an internal combustion engine that is high in detection accuracy of a rotational speed.SOLUTION: A rotational speed detection device for an internal combustion engine has an engine 11 having a crank case 26 supporting a crank shaft 25, a rotor 47 supported by an end of the crank shaft 25 so that it cannot be rotated relatively with respect to the crank shaft 25, a pulser ring 51 having a detected body 55 composed of an uneven tooth and rotating integrally with the rotor 47, and a detection device 52 detecting a rotational speed of the crank shaft 25 by detecting the detected body 55. The detected body 55 has a detected surface 60 facing the detection device 52. The detected surface 60 is inclined so that it is positioned at the outer side of the crank shaft 25 in the axial direction as it goes away from the axis line 25a of the crank shaft 25 in the radial direction.
