To provide an alarm that can update the visibility in an alert state and does not diminish a sense of danger or consciousness of danger over an alert time.SOLUTION: An alarm includes a detection unit 10 that detects one or more objects of detection in an atmosphere and outputs an electric signal dependent on a detection level, a determination unit 20 that determines whether the level of the electric signal has exceeded a predetermined threshold, an alert signal output unit 21 that outputs an alert signal associated with the object of detection when the level of the electric signal is determined to have exceeded the predetermined threshold, one or two or more alert state light emitting units 30 that light up according to the object of detection when the alert signal is outputted, a monitoring state light emitting unit 40 that indicates a monitoring state and a power-on state of the alarm itself, and a light emission control unit 22 that controls light emissions of the alert state light emitting units and the monitoring state light emitting unit.
