Zusammenfassung:To provide a novel scouring agent for fiber of which scouring property is improved compared to conventional scouring agents, and a scouring method.SOLUTION: There is provided a scouring agent for fiber containing a compound represented by the general formula (1), wherein B represents a residue by removing an isocyanate group from bi- or tri-valent polyisocyanate compound, AO is an alkylene oxy group selected from a group consisting of an ethylene oxy group, a propylene oxy group, a butylene oxy group and a combination thereof, m represents average addition molar number of AO and is the number of 3 to 350, n is 2 or 3, and R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms.
