To provide a fluid transmission device for a vehicle capable of suppressing discomfort in vehicle start due to the loss of hydraulic oil in the fluid transmission device for a vehicle.SOLUTION: A fluid transmission device for a vehicle comprises a connection device 60 that selectively switches between a connection state in which a pump wheel 26 and a turbine wheel 28 are mechanically connected and a non-connection state in which the pump wheel 26 and the turbine wheel 28 are not connected. Since the connection device 60 is switched to the connection state when hydraulic oil in a torque converter 10 is in a shortage state that it is equal to or less than a predetermined value, power can be transmitted by the torque converter 10, thereby suppressing the discomfort in vehicle start due to the loss of the hydraulic oil in the torque converter 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】車両用流体伝動装置内の作動油量が抜けたことに起因する車両発進時の違和感を抑制する車両用流体伝動装置を提供する。【解決手段】ポンプ翼車２６とタービン翼車２８とを機械的に連結する連結状態とポンプ翼車２６とタービン翼車２８とを連結しない非連結状態とに選択的に切り替える連結装置６０が備えられ、トルクコンバータ１０内の作動油が所定値以下の不足状態である場合には、連結装置６０が連結状態に切り換えられることから、トルクコンバータ１０による動力伝達が可能となるので、トルクコンバータ１０内の作動油量が抜けたことに起因する車両発進時の違和感が抑制される。【選択図】図１
