To provide an alarm capable of giving a sense of security by means of flickering.SOLUTION: A gas alarm 1 includes a gas sensor 10 that outputs a signal dependent on an ambient environment, an abnormality decision unit 21 that decides based on the signal sent from the gas sensor 10 whether an abnormality has occurred in the surroundings, a light emission control unit 23 that controls lighting of an LED group 40 when the abnormality decision unit 21 decides that an abnormality has occurred, and a memory unit 22 that stores a flickering control pattern having a 1/f flicker characteristic beforehand.
