COIL COMPONENT

To provide a coil component capable of easily providing a gap between two core members while suppressing manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: A coil component 1a is configured such that a coil 3a is arranged in a closed magnetic path by a UI-type core 2 formed by stacking I-shaped core members 21 via a gap 23 above a U-shaped core member 22 with a groove 24 in a fore-and-aft direction formed on an upper surface 22a. The coil includes: a coil portion 31 made of a plate-like conductor and arranged in the groove of the U-shaped core member with surfaces parallel with the fore-and-aft direction and a right-and-left direction; and a lead terminal 34 which is provided continuously to a front end and a rear end of the coil portion and which projects forward and backward of the U-shaped core member. Gap formation portions (33a, 33b) projecting upward and having a vertical height corresponding to the gap are formed in the coil portion.
