To provide a connector and a connector assembly in which, by deforming a housing flexibly and elastically, without wearing out a lock projection, a lock holding force can be maintained and reliability is enhanced.SOLUTION: A housing includes a bottom wall part, a front end wall part, a side wall part, and a fitting space. Each side wall part includes: a lock projection which engages with a mating lock projection of a mating housing inserted into a fitting space; and an auxiliary fitting attachment part on which an auxiliary metal fitting for attachment, whose lower end is fixed to the surface of a substrate, is loaded. A terminal includes a connection part whose lower end is fixed to the surface of the substrate, and is loaded on the front end wall part.
