Zusammenfassung:	To provide an imaging apparatus and a control method of the same capable of capturing a still image during video shooting and suppressing a loss of video frames with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a DFE 119 for reading image data from an image sensor 100 and controlling transfer to output to the outside. If there is a still image shooting instruction during video shooting, the DFE 119 writes still image data read from the image sensor 100 to a RAM 120. Further, the DFE 119 reads the still image data from the RAM 120 and outputs during a period in which video data read from the image sensor 100 is not output.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】動画撮影中の静止画撮影が可能な撮像装置およびその制御方法において、簡便な構成で、動画フレームの欠落を抑制可能とすること。【解決手段】撮像素子１００から画像データを読み出して、外部に出力する転送制御を行うＤＦＥ１１９を有する。動画撮影中に静止画撮影指示があった場合、ＤＦＥ１１９は、撮像素子１００から読み出した静止画データをＲＡＭ１２０に書き込む。また、ＤＦＥ１１９は、撮像素子１００から読み出した動画データを出力しない期間に、ＲＡＭ１２０から静止画データを読み出して出力する。【選択図】図８
