Zusammenfassung:	To provide an electronic device capable of making range measurements more conveniently, and to provide a method and program for controlling the same.SOLUTION: An electronic device is provided, comprising a controller configured to control switching between a first band mode for using a transmission wave of a first band and a second band mode for using a transmission wave of a second band wider than the first band. When a target object is detected within a predetermined distance while in the first band mode, the controller provides control to switch the mode to the second band mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】距離測定を行う際の利便性を高めた電子機器、電子機器の制御方法、及び電子機器の制御プログラムを提供する。【解決手段】電子機器は、送信波を第１の帯域とする第１帯域モードと、送信波を第１の帯域よりも広い第２の帯域とする第２帯域モードと、を切り替え可能に制御する制御部を備える。制御部は、第１帯域モードにおいて、対象物が所定の距離内に検出されたら、第２帯域モードに切り換えるように制御する。【選択図】図５
